Poets Corner: As Though He Didn’t Know

The temperatures are rising

And Mother Earth is mad

The ice glaciers are melting

And mankind says “too bad.”

The temperatures are rising

And nature’s going to hell

The ocean fronts are flooding

And mankind says “oh well.”

The temperatures are rising

The weather’s now insane

The wildlife’s sick or dying

Guess who denies all blame.

The temperatures are rising

They’re rising really fast

Severe droughts are increasing

Our planet cannot last.

The temperatures are rising

Something’s about to blow

And man keeps on polluting

As though he didn’t know,

As though he didn’t know.
