Friends of the Rockport Public Library annual book sale, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Large selections of fiction, art, nature, history, cook books, children’s books and DVDs. All proceeds benefit library’s programs.

Cape Ann Animal Aid Harvestfest Dog Parade, register 11 a.m. at CAAA booth in Harvey Park at 11 a.m. Parade starts 11:30 a.m. Friendly, vaccinated dogs welcome in costume win one of four grand prizes. All get ribbons and goodie bags. $10 per dog benefits CAAA. Preregister at 978-283-6055, ext. 23.

Cross Cape walk, 10 a.m. Meet at Whistle Stop Mall at 9:50 a.m. Led by Ted Tarr.
