Be Grateful

Be grateful when the storm gods rage

And tear apart your stifling cage

And offer drama that you seek

And leave you trembling yet not meek

And blow you high above the skies

To rob you of your last disguise

Then cast you down, transformed and wise —

As tender blades refreshed by dew

Your dying soul revived anew

And filled with hope, no longer blue —

Now yearning towards those sunny rays

Forgotten all bleak yesterdays.
