Rockport Goings On

Events listed here are open to the public and sponsored by nonprofit groups unless otherwise noted. Press releases may be sent to Goings on, Gloucester Daily Times, 36 Whittemore St., Gloucester, MA 01930, sent via email to gdt@gloucestertimes.com or faxed to 978-282-4397. Please include a contact person’s name and telephone number and send at least two weeks prior to the event. The Times will do its best to run the announcement at least once prior to the event. Due to the volume of goings on listings received by the paper, listings are alternated once they run and the same listings are not printed every day.

Community egg hunt

The Rockport Division of the Cape Ann Chamber of Commerce will sponsor the 23rd annual Rockport community egg hunt for Rockport children Saturday, March 30, 2 p.m., at the Rockport Elementary School playground area, 24 Jerden’s Lane. Preschool children will be grouped in one section, and children in kindergarten and grade one in another. Assorted candies and chocolates, as well as special eggs to be redeemed for prizes will be available. To provide financial support, to make a contribution of wrapped candy or a small prize, to volunteer, or for more information, call Missy Anzivino at 978-546-3300 or the chamber at 978-283-1601.

DECA fundraisers

Rockport High School DECA students will hold a bake sale fundraiser Saturday, March 30, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Rockport Transfer Station. Donations will be accepted; proceeds support RHS DECA students who earned a spot to compete in the national event in California next month. DECA students will also hold a pancake breakfast fundraiser Saturday, April 6, 7:30 to 10 a.m., at The Fish Shack. Menu includes pancakes, bacon, sausage, juice and coffee. Tickets are $8 each.

FRA meeting

The Friends of Rockport Athletics will meet Monday, April 1, 6:30 p.m., in the Rockport High School library. All are welcome. Call 978-270-7463.
