Gloucester Goings On

Events listed here are open to the public and sponsored by nonprofit groups unless otherwise noted. Free screening

A free screening of the one-hour documentary “On The Edge — Living with Epilepsy” will take place Tuesday, April 9, 7:30 p.m., at the Shalin Liu Performance Center, 37 Main St., Rockport. Tom Berger and Andree Robert of Gloucester will host the screening of the film by Louis Stanislaw to help spread understanding about this condition. A reception will follow. Tickets can be reserved by calling 978-546-7391, ext. 102.

‘Oliver’ on stage at Beeman School

The Beeman Elementary School Chorus will present the family-friendly musical “Oliver,” based on the story by Charles Dickens, on Wednesday and Thursday, April 10 and 11, 7 p.m., at Beeman School, 138 Cherry St. Tickets will be sold at the door the night of the performance. The show features 20 fourth- and fifth-grade Beeman School student actors, and is directed by Beeman music teacher Beth Goldberg and Gloucester Stage Youth Acting Workshop Director and Actress Heidi Dallin.

Ward 4 meeting

Ward 4 City Councillor Jackie Hardy has invited DPW Director Michael Hale and the Mayor’s Chief Administative Officer James Duggan to make a presentation related to Lanes Cove sea wall repairs on Thursday, April 18, 7 to 9 p.m., at the Lanesville Community Center, 8 Vulcan St.
