Award-winning artist Ken Knowles was the signature artist for the 18th Annual Hospice of the North Shore & Greater Boston Auction and Regatta. Knowles created "Summer Sky," an Impressionistic oil painting, depicting the beautiful New England coast with a couple walking their dog on the beach and schooners sailing in the background — all beneath a canopy of billowing clouds and sunshine. "Hospice provided critically important services to my family many years ago," said Knowles. "I am honored to help support such a worthwhile cause."
The donated artwork was featured on all Regatta materials. In addition, for the first time, Knowles consented for prints to be made of this painting. Signed, limited edition prints and note cards are available for purchase; proceeds will benefit Hospice of the North Shore & Greater Boston. For more information visit www.hnsgb.org/regatta.
The original painting was auctioned June 15 at the Eastern Yacht Club, with the Regatta race following on Father's Day, June 17.
Money raised from the auction and Regatta help ensure the Hospice of the North Shore & Greater Boston's commitment to provide comprehensive, compassionate end-of-life care for anyone who needs it, regardless of diagnosis, acuity or ability to pay.
