Gloucester Goings On

Events listed here are open to the public and sponsored by nonprofit groups unless otherwise noted. Free swim!

Due to popular response (and the continued heat wave), the Cape Ann Y pool will be free and open to the community each Monday from 3 to 6 p.m. from Monday, July 22 to Monday, Aug. 19. The Cape Ann Y is proud to serve the community while acting as a flagship for our core values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility.

Music & Meditation

The Gloucester Unitarian Universalist Church, corner of Middle and Church streets, presents an encore performance of Dr. Michael Bresnan and the Dorymates as part of a series called “Music & Meditation in the Meetinghouse” on Sunday, July 28, at 7:30 p.m. a social gathering and refreshments will follow. Open to the public with a free-will offering.

AGH meeting

Partners for Addison Gilbert Hospital invites everyone to a meeting on Monday, July 22, 6-7:30 p.m. at the Rockport Library. The agenda includes news of what is happening at AGH, a review of the Lahey Cape Ann community health assessment and input by local people into the plans for future services at AGH after May 2015, and the state’s Fund for Financially Distressed Hospitals and other legislative initiatives to reduce the cost of health care while protecting access to services.
