With the nightly air slightly chilled
And leafs now falling to the ground
The moonlight sky with stars filled
The shrill of the woodland creatures sounds
People rushing to buy school supplies
Making ready for next days bus ride
A child’s first time running as it cries
With mother standing by wiping her tear filled eyes
We now celebrate our chosen labors
That helped us to reach life’s goals
With picnics and a variety of cooked favors
As the summer leaves slowly turn to gold
The incoming tide wiping away the earthly tears
That may have seem to come our way
Our Labor worn hands that show the years
That has guided our loved ones to these days
The last day of the Main St Block Party celebration
With friends of old and yet new ones to meet
Truly a combined and growing tribulation
Of our Gloucester and its Main Street
