Adopt-a-Cat

In celebration of national Adopt-A-Cat Month, Cape Ann Animal Aid will offer month-long cat adoption specials and sales on all cat merchandise. Adult cats are available for $25 off the adoption fee, and adoption fees will be waived for special needs cats. Adopters receive free goodie bags with supplies, and all cat merchandise at CAAA’s Christopher Cutler Rich Animal Shelter will be 50 percent off. Visit www.CapeAnnAnimalAid.com or call 978-283-6055.

Fireworks fund

The Gloucester Fireworks Committee is raising money for the July 3 and Labor Day weekend fireworks displays. Donations, large or small, are welcome. GHS Class of 1958

‘Spring Awakening’

Gloucester Stage Company, 267 East Main St., will open its 2013 season with the Tony Award-winning musical “Spring Awakening” by Steven Sater and Duncan Sheik. The show opens Thursday, June 20 and runs through Sunday, July 14. A limited amount of discount tickets are available to Cape Ann residents for all Wednesday and Thursday 8 p.m. performances. For these performances only, residents may purchase tickets for $20. Advance reservations are strongly suggested. Year-round Cape Ann residents must identify themselves when making a reservation, and proof of residency must be presented at the box office. The building is air-conditioned and handicapped-accessible. Regular ticket prices are $40 for adults, $35 for seniors and students.
