The Gloucester Housing Authority will offer a free two-hour seminar for all Cape Ann homeowners struggling with their mortgage on Tuesday, Dec. 4, at 6 p.m. at the GHA offices at 259 Washington St., Gloucester. Neighborhood Legal Services will present: the Making Home Affordable federal modification program. Counselors will help with loan modification process. Dog Town walk
In celebration of the 40th anniversary of Rockport’s Toad Hall Bookstore, a walking tour of Dog Town will be offered to those who want to learn more about this area’s natural history or are just looking for a peaceful walk in the woods before a large holiday dinner. The walk will take place, rain or shine, on Thursday, Nov. 22, and departs from 13 Applecart Road in Rockport at 8:30 a.m. and returns at approximately 10 a.m. Call Eric Hutchins at 978-546-6425.
Lights of Love
The fifth annual Lights of Love festival that supports Gorton’s Specialty and Cancer Care Center at Addison Gilbert Hospital will take place Thursday, Nov. 29. The festival, presented by Beauport Ambulance Service, features a tree lighting ceremony and brings together community members to honor family and friends who have battled or are battling cancer.
CATV Santa party
Cape Ann TV will host its annual Santa party Tuesday, Dec. 4, 3 to 7 p.m., at its studio, 38 Blackburn Center, Gloucester. Children are invited to the studio to meet Santa Claus. Meetings with Santa will be videotaped and shown on CATV’s Channel 12 on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. The annual event is free and open to the public. CATV is a Project Uplift children’s toy and teen present collection site; new unwrapped toys or new clothes for a child, or gift cards for teens up to age 14 may be dropped off.
