The Open Door Food Pantry will serve free summer meals, to children 18 and under, from now until Aug. 30, at these locations: The Open Door, Riverdale, Willowood and Veterans School. All lunches are served Monday-Friday, 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. No service on July 4. A full list of all sites, including teen supper sites may be found online at www.foodpantry.org.

Downeast clambake

The Manchester Council on Aging will head to York Harbor, Maine, on Wednesday, Aug. 7, for a “Foster’s Downeast Clambake,” featuring New England clam chowder, steamed mussels, clams, lobster, corn on the cob, roasted red potatoes, rolls, and blueberry crumb cake. BBQ chicken or eggplant Parmesan also available. Cost is $30 and includes live entertainment. Time for shopping and sight-seeing. Prepaid registration due by July 29; call 978-526-7500. Van pick up at 10:30 a.m.

Museum passes

Manchester Public Library offers passes for reduced entry fees to Cape Ann Historical Association, Children’s Museum of Boston, Institute of Contemporary Art, Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum, JFK Presidential Library and Museum, New England Aquarium, Museum of Fine Arts, Museum of Science, Peabody Essex Museum, and Wheelock Family Theater. The pass program is sponsored by the Friends of the Manchester Public Library.

Portsmouth cruise

The Manchester Council on Aging will offer a 1-1/2 hour summer cruise on Portsmouth Harbor on July 11, aboard the Heritage. Departure at 9:55 a.m. Cost is $20 per person, plus lunch. Van pick up at 8:15 a.m. Stop for lunch at Michael’s Harborside in Newburyport on the way back. Prepaid reservations due by July 5; call 978-526-7500.

Memorial race

The 47th annual S.S. Crocker Memorial Race, held off the coast of Manchester, will take place Saturday, July 13. The race, which is open to all sailboats, is a fun-filled family event. Awards are given for first, second and third in each class. Wood and Fiberglass boats are welcome. Event is jointly sponsored by the Manchester Yacht Club and the Manchester Harbor Boat Club. Manchester history

The Centennial Historical Committee of the Manchester Bath & Tennis Club is looking for photos, menus, dance cards and other memorabilia to compile a memory book recounting the past 100 years.
