Turkey give-away

Our Lady of Good Voyage Church, 142 Prospect St., will host its Thanksgiving turkey give-away Monday, Nov. 19, 7:30 p.m., in the parish hall. Features 51 turkeys, more than 200 prizes, sweet bread, vegetables and cider.

Symphony’s Holiday Pops

The Cape Ann Symphony’s Make A Joyful Noise: Holiday Pops Concert will kick off the holiday season Saturday, Nov. 24, 8 p.m., and Sunday, Nov. 25, 2 p.m., in the Manchester Essex High School auditorium, 36 Lincoln St., Manchester. Features the soulful gospel vocals of Renese King and an updated audience sing-along as well as new and old holiday music for all ages. Middle Street Harvest Festival

The second annual Middle Street Harvest Festival will take place Saturday, Nov. 17, when some of Middle Street’s historic doors will be open to the public: Sargent House Museum tours, noon to 2 p.m.; Temple Ahavat Achim tours, noon to 2 p.m., with music by David Wesson at 1:30 p.m.; Sawyer Free Library harvest story time and crafts, 10 a.m. to noon; Saunders House murals tour, noon to 2 p.m.; Gloucester firehouse kids’ tours, 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.; Gloucester YMCA face-painting, noon to 2 p.m.; Harvest for Grace concert, “Celtic Music of the Sea & Season,” 2:30 p.m., Unitarian Universalist Church; and Cape Ann Museum “The Fishing Strike of 1917” with David Rich, 3 p.m. The festival is supported with sponsorship from BankGloucester.

Free vaccine for fishing families

On Tuesday, Nov. 20, the Fishing Partnership Support Services, in association with the Massachusetts Fishermen’s Partnership, will provide free flu, tetanus and pneumonia shots to commercial fishermen and their families. No health insurance is needed to participate and receive these free services. Clinics will be held at the Gloucester Marine Railways, 81 Rocky Neck Ave., 8:30 to 11 a.m.; and the Jodrey State Fish Pier, 3 State Fish Pier, 2 to 4:30 p.m. Participants will receive a discount coupon for orders of baked goods from Café Sicilia, in addition to a giveaway and raffle.
