Open Door’s annual Empty Bowl Dinner, 4 to 8 p.m., Cruiseport Gloucester. Extra parking at Good Harbor Beach, with regular trolley service to and from event. $15, $10 for children under 10. Thursday, May 23

Council on Aging trip to Victoria Station on Pickering Wharf in Salem, van pickup at 11:15 a.m. Lunch followed by Salem Trolley tour. For reservations, call 978-526-7500.

Friday, May 24

Council on Aging shopping trip to Walmart Plaza in Seabrook, N.H., 9:30 a.m. van pick up, return by 1:30 p.m. For reservations, call 978-526-7500. $3 donation requested.

Young Adult Peeps Show Workshop, 12:30 p.m., Manchester Public Library. Bring a shoebox and create a diorama using marshmallow Peeps (supplied). Grades 6-12 only. All others welcome to pick up Peeps at circulation desk (while supplies last) and create dioramas at home.

Monday, May 13

Mystery Authors Talk, 6:30 p.m., Manchester Public Library, with award winning suspense writers Hallie Ephron and Linda Barnes. Signed copies available at reading.
