Thank You Notes

Wonderful weekend

A late but most deserved note of thanks to Mr. and Mrs. Tim Collins for the spectacular show of fireworks on Aug. 10, and to Ms. Shalin Liu for yet another magnificent opera concert on Aug. 11. What a wonderful weekend in Rockport and both events were free!

Thanking EMTs, police, hospital

On Saturday, July 27, my husband had a medical emergency while I was driving on Thatcher Road in Rockport. I am eternally grateful to the Rockport Fire and Police who responded that day and came to our aid.

I also want to thank the kindness that we received from the family whose driveway I pulled into, and the off-duty fireman, Bob Paradis, who stopped to help.

The Addison Gilbert Hospital doctors and nurses helped not only my husband but my family, as well.

Two years ago we bought a house here and I hoped it would be a great community, but this experience has shown me that it’s an awesome one!

With thanks,

Barbara Manfredi

‘Stories, Songs and More’

A heartfelt thank you to all who helped make the 24th annual “Stories, Songs and More” programs at Stage Fort Park a success.

Special thanks to the financial donors to the five-week series, supported, in part, by a grant from the Gloucester Cultural Council, a local agency which is supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency; the Matz Children’s Fund of the Sawyer Free Library; Cape Ann Savings Bank; Common Crow Natural Market and Green Life Natural Living; Gorton’s Seafoods; Carroll K. Steele Insurance Agency, Inc; and Turtle Alley Chocolates.

Sincere appreciation, also, to the city of Gloucester Beach and Recreation Department for permission to use one of the most beautiful spots in the world and to Mayor Carolyn Kirk for approving the two-hour free parking for attendees; the very helpful staff of the Welcoming Center, especially Jan Bell and Carol McNeill; the Gloucester Daily Times for publicity; and every member of our truly wonderful audiences.
