Rockport Goings On

Events listed here are open to the public and sponsored by nonprofit groups unless otherwise noted. Antique car show

An antique car show will take place Tuesday, Aug. 20, 4 to 7 p.m., at DenMar Rehab and Nursing Center, 44 South St. Entertainment provided by Honky Tonk Women. Rain date is Aug. 21. Call 978-546-5690.

‘Chicago’

The Annisquam Village Players will present “Chicago,” adapted from the original by John Kander, Fred Ebb and Bob Fosse, Aug. 6-11, 7:30 p.m., in the Annisquam Village Hall, 36 Leonard St., Gloucester. Reserved seating is $32, general admission is $16; visit www.annisquamvillageplayers.com. General admission tickets may be purchased at: Annisquam Exchange, 32 Leonard St., Gloucester; The Bookstore, 61 Main St., Gloucester; and Lula’s Pantry, 5 Dock Square. Hall is air-conditioned and handicapped-accessible. Refreshments served at intermission.

Symphony Singers auditions

Cape Ann Symphony Singers are holding auditions for all vocal parts (soprano, alto, tenor and bass) Tuesday, Sept. 3, and Thursday, Sept. 5, 6:45 to 9 p.m., at the Unitarian Universalist Church, 4 Cleaves St., Rockport. Cape Ann Symphony Singers rehearse every Tuesday, Sept. 10-Nov. 19, 7 to 9 p.m., at the UU Church in Rockport. The Singers perform Nov. 30 and Dec. 1 with the Cape Ann Symphony in the Holiday Pops Concert. For an audition, contact Wendy Betts at 978-546-5220 or wendybetts@juno.com.

Summer meals program

The Open Door Food Pantry will serve free summer meals to children 18 and under, from now until Aug. 30, at these locations: The Open Door, Riverdale, Willowood and Veterans School. All lunches are served Monday-Friday, 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. A full list of all sites, including teen supper sites may be found online at www.foodpantry.org.
