Manchester Goings On

Events listed here are open to the public and sponsored by nonprofit groups unless otherwise noted. Community Reads

We want you to read what you want to read, so help the Manchester Public Library choose our next Community Reads book! From now until Dec. 8, let us know if you want to read one of these three books: Rin Tin Tin: The Life and the Legend by Susan Orlean, Blood, Bones & Butter: The Inadvertent Education of a Reluctant Chef by Gabrielle Hamilton or Killer Stuff and Tons of Money: An Insider’s Look at the World of Flea Markets, Antiques, and Collecting by Maureen Stanton. Stop by and choose a bookmark with the description of the book, then deposit the bookmark in the Community Reads box and take a bookmark for yourself! We’ll raffle off a copy of the winning title. Pat’s Potpourri

Stop by the Manchester Public Library on Dec. 1, from 1 to 3 p.m. and create your own holiday scent with Pat Martines as she helps you make your very own potpourri bag. Choose from a variety of seasonal fragrances to spice up the upcoming winter months!

Gingerbread workshop

On Wednesday, Dec. 5, at 1 p.m., the Manchester Public Library invites 6th to 8th graders to join in a YA gingerbread house workshop at the Manchester Community Center, and get creative with candy canes, gumdrops and more, while you decorate your very own gingerbread house. Registration required, call 526-7711.
