Poets Corner: My Scarf

Today it is bitter cold, my scarf I grabbed to wear

Pretty blue, so warm, and soft, it brings you near

I can see you sitting on the couch, legs crossed, knitting away

One hand working the stitch, what are you making today?

Your stroke is so fast, a pro at best

You were so talented, better than all the rest!

You made everyone a beautiful scarf, I actually got two

We wear them all winter, we are warm because of you

So thoughtful you were, making sure we all received one

You made blankets, scarves, sweaters, you were never done

You would crochet a blanket, your legs it would cover

You would add your finishing touches, and then start another

The warmth received from these gifts, will always be

To keep you close, to never forget, and to cherish eternally
