Rockport Goings On

Events listed here are open to the public and sponsored by nonprofit groups unless otherwise noted. Press releases may be sent to Goings on, Gloucester Daily Times, 36 Whittemore St., Gloucester, MA 01930, sent via email to or faxed to 978-282-4397. Please include a contact person’s name and telephone number and send at least two weeks prior to the event. The Times will do its best to run the announcement at least once prior to the event. Due to the volume of goings on listings received by the paper, listings are alternated once they run and the same listings are not printed every day.

PTO auction

Tickets for the Rockport PTO auction are now on sale. The event will be held Saturday, April 27, at the Shalin Liu Performance Center. There will be a reception with live music on the third floor before the live auction begins downstairs. There is also a silent auction and online version. The live auction features special guest auctioneer Sen. Bruce Tarr. Items include a hand-painted and signed guitar from Paula Cole; original paintings by Ken Knowles, Phyllis Kaplan and more; Disney passes; sports tickets; harbor tours; and unique dining experiences; and more. Legion meeting

Rockport American Legion Auxiliary, Unit 98, has scheduled a meeting for Monday, May 6, at the Legion Hall at 7 p.m. Members are urged to attend for our annual Memorial Service for our departed members and to plan for the annual Poppy Drive and Memorial Day.

Sunset Pilates

Rockport Recreation’s Pilates/Yoga Class is Tuesday, April 30, from 6 to 7 p.m. at Rockport Community House, 58 Broadway. Admission is $60/12 classes or $8/drop in fee. For more information, call Caitlin Chandler at 978-546-1309

Stength yoga
