Paul Mitchell Memorial Golf Tournament
On Oct. 7, the Gloucester Post Office held its 11th annual Paul Mitchell Memorial Golf Tournament at Candlewood Golf Course.
This year we raised $1,050 to be donated to the monthly special needs kids dances held at the Gloucester Fraternity Club.
I would like to thank all the golfers for their continued support in this great cause.
Again, this year, the merchants of cape Ann were more than generous in their contributions to our raffle.
I would like to thank the following merchants for their donations: Liquor Locker, Periwinkles restaurant, Sudbay Mothers, Cape Pond Ice, Candlewood Golf Course, Palazola’s Sporting Goods, Causeway Liquors, Woodman’s of Essex, The Crow’s Nest, Jalapeno’s restaurant, The Farm Bar and Grill, Cape Ann Lanes, Charlie’s Place, Pauline’s (Gifts from the Heart), and Christine Asaro’s Jewelry.
And a special thanks to Sam Calomo, Mattie Fialho and Jayne Riley for all their hard work.

To the ladies of the Women’s Club of Magnolia, our hearts go out to you ladies for your gracious people, for their generous donation and support for our veterans up at the Chelsea Home for Veterans.
As I look out my window, I see the Joan of Arc statue; I see war, age and gladness and it’s memories!
You’re only a small village across the bridge, but you never seem to forget our veterans. Each year our auxiliary prepares for our gifts to go up to Chelsea. We do about 100 Christmas gifts consisting of pajamas, T-shirts, stockings, flannel shirts, sweat pants, underwear and belts. Most of the oldies — their families are gone — and the new ones are coming in fast. It’s only a small token for what they did for us and they are so grateful — only tears in their eyes tell the story of their gratitude.
Bless you ladies.
