“Art in the Shipyard,” 3:30 to 5 p.m., Essex Shipbuilding Museum, 66 Main St. Eight weekly Wednesday sessions. $5 per session, $30 for eight. For young artists using museum’s shipyard and artifacts for inspiration. All materials provided. All ages welcome. Email 978-768-6441.

Plant something!, 2 p.m., Essex Shipbuilding Museum. Promoting the fun and benefits of gardening. Help plant native plants around the Harbor master’s shed. Free sunflower seeds will be given away to fill Essex with sunflowers this summer.

Free Artist’s Plein Air Day, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Cogswell’s Grant, 60 Spring St. North Shore artists paint beautiful vistas including Essex River, Great Marsh, landscapes, and 18th century historic house and barns.
