Gloucester Goings On

Events listed here are open to the public and sponsored by nonprofit groups unless otherwise noted. GHS Class of 1947

The Gloucester High School Class of 1947 will celebrate its 66th reunion Monday, May 20, 1 p.m., at the Gloucester House restaurant. Everyone starting with the class is welcome. Homemade nisu

The Gloucester United Methodist Church, 436 Washington St., will hold a homemade nisu sale Friday, May 31 and Saturday, June 1. Cost is $5 per loaf. Orders may be picked up after 1 p.m. To place an order, call 978-281-1040. All proceeds benefit Grace House of Cape Ann.

Fireworks fund

The Gloucester Fireworks Committee is currently raising funds for the July 3 and Labor Day weekend fireworks displays. Donations, large or small, are welcome. Tax-deductible donations may be sent to: c/o The Gloucester Fund, 45 Middle St., Gloucester, MA 01930. (Write “fireworks” on the memo line.) Email gloucesterinfo@gmail.com.

Cemetery meeting

The Mount Pleasant Cemetery Association will hold its annual meeting Monday, May 20, 6:30 p.m., in the Community Church of East Gloucester, Chapel Street. All lot owners are welcome. Only registered lot owners may vote, but all interested parties are invited. All artificial flowers and containers must be removed from the cemetery before May 20. Lot owners are responsible for the removal of any trash. Applications for cemetery caretakers should be sent to: Mount Pleasant Cemetery Association, P.O. Box 553, Gloucester, MA 01930, before May 18. Applicants must be fully licensed and insured. Call Mary Ann Boucher at 978-281-3348.
