Gloucester Goings On

Garden Mentors

The Cape Ann Farmers’ Market Backyard Growers Program is recruiting volunteer garden mentors for the 2013 growing season. Mentors help train participants how to grow their own food! Intermediate gardening experience required; low time commitment; big community impact! We provide you with mentor training at a mandatory orientation on Saturday, Feb. 16. Auditions

There are auditions tonight for the Cape Ann Theatre Collaborative’s Spring show, ‘Becky Shaw,’ at 7:30 p.m. Pigeon Cove Circle, 6 Breakwater Avenue Becky. ‘Becky Shaw’-- Gina Gionfriddo’s searingly funny comedy about love, marriage, blind dates from hell and the quirks of family dynamics,, has lots of roles available and will run three weekends: April 26, 27, 28 and May 3, 4, 5 and 10, 11, 12 at Gorton Theatre, home of Gloucester Stage Company. Independent living

The Council on Aging will host a guest speaker from the Elder Insider, on Wednesday, Jan. 23, at 10 a.m. at the rose Baker Senior Center., for an informal discussion regarding options and resources necessary to help keep you independent and in control of your life.
