The Cape Ann Shakespeare Troupe has established a $500 scholarship to be awarded to a Cape Ann High School senior who has been accepted to a college theater arts program. Drivers for seniors
RSVP Volunteers of the North Shore seeks volunteer medical transportation drivers. SeniorCare is in need of volunteers from Gloucester and Rockport for local and out-of-town appointments. Volunteers choose when and how often they drive. Drivers are compensated. Call 978-281-1750.

History museum
The Sandy Bay Historical Society museum on King Street is open Mondays, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., for research. Cost is $5 for nonmembers, free for members. Tours of the museum are also offered.
Scholarship fund
The Linda Wieditz Scholarship Fund is accepting donations. A scholarship, given in memory of the much beloved music teacher in the Rockport Public Schools, is presented at the Rockport High School graduation each year to one or more graduates pursuing music studies in higher education. Musicians sought
Rockport Legion Band, a community band founded in 1932, is a non-audition musical group that plays all year, and is looking for competent musicians who play traditional concert band instruments. The Rockport Senior Center will hold a jewelry-making workshop Monday, Feb. 4, from 12:30 to 2 p.m. Participants may choose to make either a bracelet or a necklace. There is a $5 fee for supplies.
Books sought
The Friends of the Rockport Public Library are seeking donations of paperback and hardback books in good condition for the book sale which will take place March 15-17. Donated books, DVDs and books on tape can be brought to the library during normal hours of operation: Tuesday, Saturday and Sunday, 1 to 5 p.m.; and Monday, Wednesday and Thursday, 1 to 8 p.m. Proceeds support the Cabin Fever movies, the author series, and children’s programs.

Rockport Diamond Sports is hosting online registration for youth baseball and softball at www.rdsi.org. Registration ends Feb. 28. ASA Softball is for players in grades three through eight. Little League and Babe Ruth Baseball is for players ages 7-16. A player’s age is based on their age as of April 30, 2013. Cost for ASA Softball and Little League Baseball is $95. Cost for Babe Ruth Baseball (ages 13-16) is $105. Family cap is $190.

Drawing and Painting with Joe Dai Buell — Meets Tuesdays, Feb. 26-April 23, 7 to 9 p.m., Rockport High School art room. $180 for eight weeks. Multimedium drawing class uses pencils, graphite and color, charcoal, brush and acrylic paints.

Cape Ann Shakespeare Troupe (CAST) has two roles open for its production of “Julius Caesar:” Lucius (conflated with Strato) — male, late teens through 20s; and Titinius (also to play Caesar’s and Octavius’ servant) — male, 20s-40s. Open burning season
Forest Fire Warden Mike Frontierro reminds residents that open burning season is currently running and will continue to run through May 1. Only brush that originated on the property may be burned.
