Coastal waters east of Ipswich Bay and the Stellwagen Bank National Marine Sanctuary:

Small craft advisory in effect this morning.

Hurricane force wind watch in effect Friday evening through Saturday afternoon.

Today, northwest winds 10 to 15 knots with gusts up to 20 knots becoming north 5 to 10 knots in the afternoon. Seas 2 to 4 feet.

Tonight, east winds 5 to 10 knots...Increasing to 10 to 15 knots after midnight. Gusts up to 25 knots. Seas around 2 feet.

Friday, east winds 20 to 25 knots increasing to 25 to 30 knots in the afternoon. Gusts up to 45 knots. Seas 6 to 9 feet. Snow. Visibility 1 nautical mile or less.

Friday night, northeast winds 25 to 35 knots increasing to 40 to 50 knots after midnight. Gusts up to 65 knots. Seas 20 to 25 feet. Areas of blowing snow. Snow. Visibility 1 nautical mile or less.

Saturday, north winds 40 to 50 knots with gusts up to 65 knots. Seas 26 to 31 feet. Areas of blowing snow. Snow. Visibility 1 nautical mile or less.

Saturday night, north winds 25 to 35 knots. Gusts up to 55 knots in the evening. Seas 15 to 20 feet. Chance of snow. Visibility 1 to 3 nautical miles.

Sunday, northwest winds 20 to 25 knots with gusts up to 30 knots. Seas 6 to 9 feet.

Sunday night, west winds 10 to 15 knots with gusts up to 20 knots. Seas 3 to 5 feet.

Monday, southwest winds 15 to 20 knots with gusts up to 25 knots. Seas 3 to 5 feet. Chance of rain and snow showers. Visibility 1 to 3 nautical miles.

Monday night, southwest winds 15 to 20 knots with gusts up to 30 knots. Seas 4 to 6 feet. Chance of showers.
