A Gentle Dance

Pray not for future knowledge now gracefully dark

Inhale instead a real and raucous draft so deep

Past lives dilute and slowly fade on a downward arc

Embrace that blessed wakening from its sleep

Should fate so sweetly unfurl its velvet ribbon

To give us a trembling glimpse of our forever

Best we float away from those temptations hidden

Landing softly then on the other side of never
