‘Driving Miss Daisy’
Gloucester Stage Company, 267 East Main St., wraps up its 2013 season with Alfred Uhry’s Pulitzer Prize-winning play “Driving Miss Daisy,” starring Johnny Lee Davenport, Lindsay Crouse and Robert Pemberton and directed by Benny Sato Ambush. Show runs Wednesdays-Sundays, now through Sept. 22. Limited amount of discount tickets ($20) available to year-round Cape Ann residents for all Wednesday and Thursday performances. Advance reservations strongly suggested. Residents must identify themselves when making a reservation, and proof of residency must be presented at box office. Registration for religious education classes at Holy Family Parish, for both Rockport and Gloucester, are now being accepted. Parents can register in person Sunday, Sept. 8, 9 a.m. to noon, in the parish school facility on Pleasant Street, Gloucester. Schedules are available at the front doors of each worship site and upon registration.
A fundraiser dinner to benefit the Gloucester High School Cheerleaders will take place Wednesday, Sept. 11, 4 to 9 p.m., at Jalapeno’s. A 50/50 drawing and a scratch ticket drawing will be held.
