Veterans writing workshop
The Gloucester Office of Veterans Services and the Gloucester Writers Center will hold a six-week writing workshop for veterans Nov. 1-Dec. 6. The two-hour workshop meets Fridays, 10 a.m. to noon, at 12 Emerson Ave. Memoir, essays, journal writing, poetry and stories will be explored, with Dorothy Shubow Nelson, formerly senior lecturer in English at UMass Boston, facilitating. Clerk’s Office news
The 2013 Street List books are available for purchase in the City Clerk’s Office, 9 Dale Ave. Cost is $25. Gloucester’s Municipal Election is Tuesday, Nov. 5. The deadline to register to vote or to make changes to your current registration is Wednesday, Oct. 16. The clerk’s office will remain open until 8 p.m. that evening for voter registration only.
