Manchester Public Library reopens, at 1 p.m.

Ramblin’ Readers book group, for grades three and four, 3:30 to 4 p.m., Manchester Public Library. Topic: “The Blue Shoe,” a tale of thievery, trickery and magic by Roderick Townley. Copies at front desk.

Teen Zone meeting, 6:30 p.m., Manchester Public Library. Join this Teen Advisory Board’s weekly Wednesday meetings and earn community service hours. Grades 9-12 welcome to apply at library, or email acowman@mvlc.org.

Celestial observation night, 6:30 p.m., lawn of the Manchester Public Library, with binoculars and tripod from NASA, with Chuck and Joan Houghton and their telescopes. Moon pies and party, all ages and telescopes welcome! Register at scollins@mvlc.org or 978-526-2016.

Thursday, Oct. 17

Mountaineer and motivational speaker Wendy Booker presents, 6:30 p.m. Manchester Public Library. The local author and adventurer will share experiences featured in her book /New Altitude: Beyond Tough Times to the Top of the World.

Friday, Oct. 18

Weekly playgroup for toddlers and preschoolers, 9 to 11 a.m., Manchester Community Center. Each week includes a theme and variety of activities for toddlers. Plenty to keep your infant entertained as well.

Saturday, Oct. 19
