Gospel trio
Black History Month will be celebrated in song this Sunday, Feb. 12, when the AZ One, a gospel trio, stirs souls and rocks the spirit of Gloucester's historic 1806 Unitarian Universalist Church. Vocalists Gordon Michaels, Darlene Wynn and James Early bring their blend of gospel and jazz to a special Sunday service at 10 a.m. Guest is the Rev. Sarah Clark whose will be sermon is "Abraham Lincoln's Religion."
Foxwoods trip

Final Cut Pro
Cape Ann TV is continuing its free Final Cut Pro workshop series, "Tools and Tips of Final Cut Pro," here at the Cape Ann TV studio on Feb. 28, from 5 to 7 p.m., with Barry O'Brien sharing his knowledge of the ins and outs of Final Cut, to help you increase your proficiency and polish your programs. GFC Ladies Auxiliary

Magic show!
Magician Greg McAdams will give free magic shows at Cape Ann Families and The Open Door meeting space, 28 Emerson Ave., on Thursday, Feb. 23. The first show, for pre-schoolers, runs from 10 to 10:45 a.m., the second show, for elementary aged kids with an anti-bullying theme, runs from 11:15 a.m. to noon. Movie night
On Wednesday, Feb. 22, Pathways for Children will host a free movie night screening of the film "Despicable Me!" at 6 p.m. in the multipurpose room at 29 Emerson Ave. Come walk down the red carpet dressed as your favorite movie character, with prizes for the most creative costumes and popcorn for all! Homebuyer classes
The Gloucester Housing Authority will hold a firsttime homebuyers workshop at its 259 Washington St. office on Feb. 28 and 29, and March 6 and 7, from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Speakers will address safe mortgages, credit scores, down payment grants, home inspections, foreclosure prevention, buying foreclosed properties, legal issues, multi-families, insurance, and more. Cost is $55, materials and refreshments included; discount for early registration. Classes are expected to fill quickly, so register ASAP.
