NASHUA, N.H. -- Democratic supporters were in the minority in Nashua this morning as John McCain and Mitt Romney each made stops at Broad Street Elementary School to take photos with voters and shake hands.
McCain's Nashua visit was his only stop of the day. He was greeted by supporters from all over the country, including 85-year-old Dot Nice of Nashua, who was overwhelmed by the crowd of supporters for the Arizona senator.
"This is the worst it's been in 40 years," said Nice of the throngs of media and Republican supporters at the polls.
Rachel Scott of Hollis was joined by her three daughters in matching pink dressesm, waiting to greet two of the top Republican candidates. Scott said she took the girls out of school for the day so they could greet the presidential candidates and learn about the New Hampshire primary.
"We're trying to have educated voters and we're going to look at their policies when we go home," said Scott. Her 8-year-old daughter held a notebook containing Romney's autograph.
Romney made several stops early this morning to greet voters at the polls and will be holding a party tonight at the CR Sparks Event Center in Bedford at 7:30 p.m.
Tonight, McCain also will be holding a Primary Night Party at the Nashua Crowne Plaza at 8 p.m.
