BOURNE, Mass. (AP) — A missing towboat captain has been found dead inside the cabin of his boat off Cape Cod.
Divers from the Wareham Fire Department found the man inside the 29-foot TowBoatUS "Triple J" about 8:30 a.m. Wednesday.
The Coast Guard and other agencies began searching after receiving a distress call at about 1 a.m. from the captain, reporting that his boat was taking on water. The partially submerged boat was found approximately three miles south of Hog Island Channel, off the coast of Pocasset in Bourne on Cape Cod.
The captain's name was not immediately released.
