BOSTON (AP) — The wife of former Massachusetts gubernatorial candidate and convenience store magnate Christy Mihos reportedly has filed for divorce.
WBZ-TV reports Andrea Mihos was in Barnstable Probate and Family Court yesterday.
During the court hearing, her lawyer alleged that Christy had spent nearly all of the $25 million he made from the sale of his convenience stores on two failed bids for governor and an addiction to hiring prostitutes and strippers for sex.
A lawyer for Christy Mihos, who did not appear in court, said his client has been living an "almost monastic life" in the financial sense since the couple separated.
Christy Mihos lives in Florida while Andrea Mihos lives on Cape Cod.
WBZ-TV also reported that Andrea Mihos said she paid about $50,000 for Christy Mihos' treatment at a psychiatric hospital.
