BOSTON — The U.S. Coast Guard says it has rescued four fishermen in two separate incidents in Massachusetts waters.
Officials say they received a report that a 20-foot fishing boat was taking on water at about 7:30 p.m. Sunday in Nasketucket Bay, just southeast of Fairhaven.
A Coast Guard boat and helicopter responded. The helicopter found the two fishermen and hoisted them from the water.
Earlier in the day, Coast Guard officials say they received a distress call that a 17-foot fishing vessel was taking on water near Barnstable, Massachusetts.
A rescue crew found the boat just east of Beach Point and brought the two fishermen safely to shore.
The Coast Guard says all of the fishermen in the two incidents are expected to be OK.
