Top species landed and average prices were:
:Whiting: 300 pounds (73 cents)
King whiting: 300 pounds (58 cents)
Market cod: 200 pounds ($2.56)
Large monktail: 200 pounds ($2.22)
Large monkfish, head on: 200 pounds ($1.22)
The Buyers And Sellers Exchange (BASE), an electronic auctioning company that sells landings at owner Whaling City Seafood Display Auction in New Bedford, Boston’s Whaling City Auction, and Gloucester’s Whaling City Auction, handled 39,300 pounds of fish and 38,000 pounds of scallops Tuesday.
The Portland, Maine, Display Auction handled 8,700 pounds of fish Tuesday.
No landings were reported Wednesday at the New England Fish Exchange in Boston.
