Cape Ann Seafood Exchange

The Cape Ann Seafood Exchange reported no fish landings Tuesday.

Other landings

The Buyers And Sellers Exchange (BASE), an electronic auctioning company that sells landings at owner Whaling City Seafood Display Auction in New Bedford, Boston's Whaling City Auction, and Gloucester's Whaling City Auction, handled 182,100 pounds of fish Monday.

The Whaling City Seafood Display Auction in New Bedford handled 98,700 pounds of scallops landings Monday.

The Portland, Maine, Display Auction reported no fish landings Monday.

No landings were reported Tuesday at the New England Fish Exchange in Boston.

Tierney targets NOAA criminalization tactics

Congressman John Tierney has asked the federal Commerce Department Inspector General to investigate whether the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration "may be proactively pursuing the criminal prosecution of fishermen under seldom-invoked laws."

The Cape Ann Seafood Exchange handled 69,100 pounds of fish Thursday.
Top species landed and average prices were:
Medium and small pollock: 20,200 pounds (75 cents)
Scrod haddock: 18,500 pounds ($2.54)

A christening with Neptune

ROCKPORT — Rockport boat Capt. Bill Lee will host what he says will be an event of mythical proportions tomorrow.
The occasion is a denaming and renaming ceremony of new vessel, a replacement for Lee's 44-foot Ocean Reporter that ran into rocks behind Straitsmouth Island last Oct. 26 while carrying a National Geographic film crew that was shooting stock footage of Thacher Island's twin lighthouses.
