Letter: Rev. Wigton deserves vote for Housing Authority

To the editor:

This is an open letter to Rockport voters.

I am writing to ask for your support for my friend, Matt Wigton.

Matt has decided to wage a write-in campaign for a seat on Rockport’s Housing Authority. I’ve known Matt now for three or four years, and can tell you I have nothing but respect for him. Matt is currently the minister at the First Baptist Church of Rockport.

My daughter, Katharine, has been attending the Youth Group program run by Matt’s wife Meghan for the past couple of years.

Though I am a Catholic, I have attended services at the First Baptist Church on a number of different occasions, and have been very impressed. Matt is a thoughtful, compassionate, and well educated individual. Matt is a very hard worker who has energized the congregation at the First Baptist Church of Rockport.

I believe Matt would bring these great qualities to the Rockport Housing Authority Board. Matt currently resides on Summer Street with his wife Meghan, and dog, Maggie.

I am very excited that Matt has decided to run. Would you please join me in supporting Matthew Wigton, 11 Summer St. — that is the way you need to write it on the ballot — for Rockport Housing Authority on May 7?

Thank you for your consideration.
