Letter: Rockport 'seniors' program appreciated

To the editor:

A few weeks ago, six young men drove up my driveway in a working van, eager to help my husband and I do some light painting on our front porch.

It was a program called “seniors helping seniors,” in which the young adults in this year’s senior class spent the morning helping senior citizens get their yards ready for the summer.

These six polite and entertaining young men did a great job on the porch and treated my husband and I with great respect. It was so nice to them in action.

This wonderful program, put on through the Rockport public schools, is one of the reasons why I feel so lucky to live in this community.
