Letter: Editor praised for effort during storm

To the editor:

Kudos to Gloucester Daily Times Editor Ray Lamont.

Though he and I, more often than not, have differing opinions on the news of the day, I appreciate that he and others kept the paper publishing during a situation when a lapse might have been understood. He even wrote the right front-page lead story himself (”Confronting Sandy,” the Times, Monday, Oct. 29) to deliver without a break in reaching the public.

I wonder if he slept on his desk overnight?

BEVERLY QUINT

Rockport

Editor’s Note: No, I didn’t sleep here overnight. Also, everyone with our news, advertising and circulation teams did a great job pressing on during the storm. — Ray Lamont, Editor, Gloucester Daily Times and gloucestertimes.com.
