Letter: A musical 'din' on Bearskin Neck?

To the editor:

It is amazing to me that the Times would present such an uniformed editorial as the one regarding one shopkeeper’s playing of music on Bearskin Neck (the Times, Monday, Sept. 13).

I cannot believe that you would seem to approve amplified music outside every shop on Bearskin Neck — all perhaps at volumes to out-do the shops on either side.

After all, what the board approves for one shop, it would have to approve for all, right? And if good enough for the Neck, I guess uptown shops should get permits, too!

Yup, it’s a real Pandora’s box. Guess I will have to get a megaphone in order to be heard over the din:

“Welcome K-Mart shoppers!” My god ...
