Letter: Syria debate makes majority view clear

To the editor:

Regarding the debate over our potential role in Syria, one thing is crystal clear:

The majority of the public is sick and tired of the people in Washington using our bloated military to try to influence events in regions that they don’t understand.

These adventures have cost tens of thousands of American lives and hundreds of billions of dollars and have done nothing for the American people.

The fact that the Iraqi leaders who used chemical were hanged did not deter whoever did it in Syria. If the risk of being hanged is not a deterrent, how effective will a “very limited strike of very limited duration” be?

We can only hope that our representatives in Congress will continue to work toward stopping this insanity.
