Letter: Favazza's fresh approach needed for schools

To the editor:

I am delighted that Joel Favazza is seeking a seat on Gloucester’s School Committee.

He is smart, committed, a recent beneficiary of all the good our schools have to offer, and a positive example from his success at Brandeis University as an undergraduate and at Boston University as a law student that a diploma from GHS can carry you as far as you will take it.

More than ever, we need the fresh perspective and capacity to explore issues thoroughly on our School Committee that Joel will provide.

Gloucester needs the new generation of voters to step up and take their place in community affairs and Joel, on the cusp of 30, is offering to do it.

I say we take him up on that offer.

Please join me on Nov. 5 in giving Joel Favazza one of your School Committee votes.
