To the editor:
It seems we’ve recently lost our sense on community.
I’ve heard it said, “We are a community divided.” What a shame.
We’re a diverse group, we citizens of Gloucester, but I think we can all agree on one thing, we love it here. Why else would we live here?
There are two mayoral candidates, but I don’t believe either one can repair the damage this division of community has caused. How can you run for a mayoral seat if you don’t have the concerns of “All” the people that make up your community foremost on your agenda?
When the time comes to vote, I will be writing in “Joseph Palmisano” for mayor.
His name will not appear on the ballot, because his job with the federal government doesn’t allow him to campaign, but his agenda, should he win, is quite clear to me. He’s ready to take this job and work hard for each and every one of us.
I’d love to see him win. Then I could finally get a good night’s sleep, knowing that the city is in the hands of someone who sincerely cares about the direction we’re going in.
