Letter: Times rates kudos for election coverage

To the editor:

Kudos are in order for the Gloucester Daily Times and its editor Ray Lamont.

I live in Rockport, but follow Gloucester politics faithfully.

Registered voters in Gloucester are fortunate they could attend, free of charge, the political debates that the newspaper has sponsored, and that voters also can read the accounting of the debate the next day in the pages of the Gloucester Times. The Times also printed when the debates were being televised on our local Cape Ann TV cable outlet.

In my opinion, voters have no excuse to stay home and not vote today — thanks in part to the good work of the Gloucester Times and its continuous election coverage.

KATHERINE M. “KAY” Murphy
