Let there be light

To the editor:

January, February and March can be the dreariest months of the year.

Driving past a home that has candles glowing in the windows, or a simple string of tiny lights scalloped under the eaves, or seeing a tree graced with sparkling blues or whites warms the heart on a cold winter evening.

The new LED lights are inexpensive and use very little energy, so please don’t rush out to take down your holiday lights. Cape Ann can sparkle on long winter nights.

Let’s chase away the midwinter blues, and welcome friends and neighbors home.

Let there be lights!
