Letter: Thanks, from the Salvation Army

To the editor:

The turkeys and fixings have come and gone.

The red kettle with the bell, and its sound of the season has also softened.

The Salvation Army of the North Shore would like to say thank you to all of the volunteers and donors who have assisted us the past year. Thank you!

It would be very difficult to name all of the individuals, businesses, schools, church groups and social organizations who offered their time and resources to those in need in the North Shore community.

To those who donated canned goods and/or turkeys at Thanksgiving time, we were able to assist hundreds of families enjoy friends and food.

To those who sponsored an angel tree child or an individual family adoption, we thank you for your thoughtfulness. From your generosity we were able to assist more than 900 children with gifts this year.

For those who spent countless hours sorting and bagging toys for distribution, we would not be able to complete the task without you.

To all who volunteered to stand on kettle, your efforts assist us to continue our work year round.

Thank you to all who come alongside us in partnership throughout the year. The needs of the residents of the North Shore continue to increase. Only with your help can we work to assisting those who are truly in need.

Thank you and may the Lord Bless you throughout the year.
