To the editor:
The reporting of an “inconclusive” finding in the John Tierney ethics case (”Ethics panel closes Tierney probe, finds no wrongdoing,” (Page 1, the Times, Thursday, Sept. 12) is another example of Washington ineptness, aloofness — and, frankly, a lack of respect for the citizens of the 6th District!
Wouldn’t we all like to have a “money tree” in the backyard that we could shake when needed to provide us some cash without claiming income?
The fact that Mr. Tierney didn’t even know that his wife had up to $7 million in the bank at any given time is an outrage.
Once again, the Washington politicians live by a different standard of rules — outrageous to say the least!
