Letter: Assessment helps our community health

To the editor:

The forum at The Gloucester House restaurant was a great opportunity for the residents of Gloucester to hear first-hand the key health findings resulting from the community health needs assessment.

The Cape Ann YMCA was pleased to participate in this important process, which provides critical information about the ways to ensure everyone in our community has access to the programs, services and care they need. Just as important, the results of the community health needs assessment give us direction about how we can work together moving forward to improve the health of our community.

Chronic disease in particular remains a challenge, and that is why we are working with our community partners to ensure that residents have access to the programs and services that can help manage these conditions.

We’d also like to thank Northeast Health System for leading this process over the past year, and look forward to working with the hospital on these initiatives.
