Showing respect for all religions

To the editor:

I am writing in direct response to Stewart Diamond’s letter to the editor headlined “Spiritual issues cloud the election run” (the Times, Friday, Oct. 12).

The many, many people I have asked to describe “God” have replied: “God is Love.”

That is exactly my interpretation of “God.” I respect all religions that help individuals cope with the trials of life as long as that religion does not condemn or incite harmful actions on any other beliefs and interpretations of their beliefs accepted by other people.

Perhaps Stewart Diamond should consider repenting. It saddens me that so many historical symbols have recently, it seems, been attacked with demand for removal.
