City Hall a source of Gloucester pride

To the editor:

Very early one morning while driving down Warren Street, a friend and I stopped to view the restoration progress on City Hall.

The workmen were arriving to start their day, and the morning sun was shining on the newly unveiled section of the roof that had just been completed.

The sight was breathtakingly beautiful. One of the workers was standing by his truck and we complimented him on the amazing work they were doing. His answer: “This is such a beautiful, beautiful building.”

We are so fortunate to have such a magnificent City Hall in Gloucester, and also to have such amazing individuals serving on the restoration committee who are working so hard to preserve the integrity of this beautiful building and our city.

Their love and respect is reflected in the creative and artistic decisions they are making. It is also a testament to the hardworking and dedicated citizens from the past who passed the torch to the generation.

I am sure they’re looking down with pride watching what is happening to this amazing structure.
