Letter: End-of-life choices not just for elderly

To the editor:

I read the letter to the editor by Sarah Ann Hacket (Times, Thursday, March 14) on making end-of-life care choices.

I gave a sermon at the Gloucester Unitarian Universalist Church on Feb. 24 on this subject and talked about the document from Aging with Dignity called “5 Wishes.”

I also did a reading by Fred Recklau on “Cure vs. Healing” and quoted from recent feature articles by Dr. Kiran Gupta and Ellen Goodman. You can find more information about this by doing a search on the web.

This is a very important subject to address before a crisis.

Everyone over the age of 18 should have a health care proxy, not just the elderly.
